Isaiah 3:1-4:1

Chapter 3
1 For behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, is removing from Jerusalem and from Judah stay and support, every stay of bread and every stay of water. 2 Mighty one and man of war, judge and prophet and diviner and elder. 3 Ruler of fifties and lifter of faces and counselor and wise skilled artisan and discerning whisperer 4 And I will give boys as their rulers, and caprices will rule over them. 5 And the people will press man against man and man against his companion; they will feel contempt. The boy against the elder and the despised against the honored. 6 For a man will seize his brother from the house of his father, saying, "You be ruler over us, and this stumbling block be under your hand." 7 He will lift up his voice on that day, saying, "No—I will not be a binder, and in my house there is no bread and there is no garment. Do not appoint me ruler of the people." 8 For Jerusalem has stumbled and Judah has fallen, because their tongue and their deeds are against the LORD, to rebel against the eyes of his glory. 9 The recognition of their faces testifies against them, and they have declared their sins like Sodom; they have not hidden them. Woe to their vital life force, for they have repaid moral evil to them. 10 Say to the righteous that it is good, that they will eat the fruit of their deeds. 11 Woe to the wicked! Evil! For the recompense of his hands will be done to him. 12 People, your oppressors are perverters of justice, and women rule over you. People, your guides lead you astray, and they have swallowed the way of your paths. 13 The LORD stands to contend, and he stands to judge the peoples. 14 The LORD will enter into judgment with the elders of his people and his officials, and you—you have devoured the vineyard; you have robbed the poor in their houses. 15 "What to you—you crush my people and grind the faces of the poor?" says the Lord GOD of Hosts. 16 And he said, "The LORD, because the daughters of Zion have become proud and they walk with necks stretched out and eyes whoring, walking and mincing as they walk, and with their feet they trip." 17 And the Lord shaved the crown of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD exposed them; he will uncover. 18 On that day the Lord will remove the glory of the anklets and the crescents and the pendants. 19 the pendants and the bracelets and the veils. 20 the tiaras and the anklets and the conspiracies and the houses of the soul and the amulets. 21 the rings and the nose rings of the nose 22 the cloaks and the wraps and the veils and the nose-rings. 23 and the mirrors and the fine linens and the turbans and the veils 24 And it will be instead of fragrance rot, and instead of a girdle a festering sore, and instead of a work of rot baldness, and instead of finery a girding of sackcloth—for instead of beauty. 25 Your women will fall by the sword, and your might in battle. 26 And her gates will mourn and be acquitted on the earth; she will sit.

Chapter 4
1 And in that day seven women will seize one man, saying, "We will eat our own bread and wear our own garments; only let your name be called upon us—take away our reproach."
